Occupational Health Assessment

In cases of more serious injury, and in particular those involving lasting impairment due to brain injury or central neurological damage, Physio-link offers an Occupational Therapy Service to assess the immediate needs of both the Claimant and their home circumstance. If required, an ongoing general review can be provided to review progress and this can be carried out on a national basis by an Occupational Therapist on our panel of experts who is a specialist in the field of Neurology.

The assessment provides a report specifying current need and level of dependency at the time of the report. The reports are fully objective and carry no suggestion of a medical prognosis. The report will consider and identify environmental, functional and social barriers to the Claimant's independence and return to work. A unique feature of the report is its focus on the sociological effects of the accident, not only on the Claimant but also on their family.

The provision of an Occupational Therapist's assessment report is extremely beneficial to the Solicitor and Claimant, ensuring that all relevant - but not necessarily immediately apparent - areas of loss and degradation of quality of life are fully noted within the Claimant's claim. The specialist experience of the Occupational Therapist's report will offer a benchmark, and recommendations will prioritise treatment need and provide links with relevant regional support networks for the Claimant and their family.
